"Take your Essay from Blah to WOW!"

Come join me on Monday June 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Worcester Jewish Community Center for an inside look at that all-important college application essay. Find out how the application essay is different from the kind of writing you've learned in school. Discover the secrets to turning an ordinary essay into a strong and compelling presentation of your unique qualities. Get the inside edge and go home with the confidence to write essays that will make you a standout applicant.

Parents and high school students are welcome to attend this presentation. There is NO COST for this workshop, but registration is requested. Please call Joan at 508-757-8920 or click here to register.

"College Essay Writing Workshop"

Smart college-bound students know that the summer before senior year is a crucial time for getting a head start on their application essays. For most students, however, knowing what colleges expect of them and how to get started is a challenge. In this workshop, you will learn what makes a strong essay and will experiment with a variety of topics. You should be prepared to work hard on your essay, both in class and at home, and be ready to complete a good first draft of an essay suitable for submission with your college applications.

As many essays can be modified to fit a variety of topics, it is not necessary to know where you will apply in order to benefit from this workshop. The workshop will meet at the Worcester Jewish Community Center on Wednesday, July 6 and 13, from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. Each student will meet individually with Joan during the week of July 18 for personalized feedback and suggestions for further improvement. The fee for the three-session workshop is $325. Registration is limited to ten students. For more information and registration, call Joan at 508-757-8920 or click here to register.
